About Miss Britain Kitten's Work:
Drawing on the whimsy of fairytales gone bad, Miss Britain Kitten’s art is inspired by fantasy and reality intermingling in the most fantastic ways. This is illustrated both in the mediums used and in the meanings behind the work.
Miss Britain Kitten’s signature style is blending photography alongside her illustrations, seamlessly intermingling the real world with the surreal. The themes of her art are depicted in surreal fantasy but the meanings are deeply rooted in metaphors of the reality of raw human emotion and the challenges we face as creatures capable of so much intensity.
Influences: Unrequited love, impossibility, fairy tales, vintage photography, ghosts of the past, emotion, taxidermy, nostalgia, history, historical clothing, Native Americans, spirituality, environmentalism and gothic romanticism.
Miss Britain Kitten is passionate about animals but particularly exotic and misunderstood animals such as spiders and other ‘creepy crawlies.’ This also comes through in her art and writing. One of her main goals is to help people find beauty in unusual things and appreciate all living creatures for their important roles in our world.
Limited Prints are for sale. Artwork can be adapted for print to make a one-off original 3d custom version.
